This was part of the late 2020 batch, and one of two thinline Tele’s. I’m a sucker for Tele’s, especially with f-holes.

Specs:

  • Neck: Maple, with 12-inch radius maple fretboard, finished with Tung Oil
  • Tuners: GuitarFetish
  • Frets: Jescar FW55090 (equivalent to Dunlop 6105)
  • Nut: GraphTech TUSQ XL
  • Body: 2-piece alder with flame maple top
  • Pickups: GuitarFetish
  • Bridge: Wilkinson
  • Finish: Hand-rubbed 3-tone dye, with mahogany-colored dye in back. Hand-applied Crystalac BriteTone.

I always liked the look of tobacco sunburst finishes and I’m pleased with the way this one came out. Routing out the f-holes on a pricey piece of figured maple was definitely stressful but it actually came out pretty flawless. I actually enjoyed doing the fretwork on this as I think that is what really separates the great luthiers from the amateurs like myself.
